What to check after receiving an offer letter.

An offer is an important step, but it deserves a careful read. Understand what has been offered and what remains to be completed before you accept.

Verify the offer and programme

Check the sender through the institution’s official contact details. Match the name, programme title, campus, level, intake and duration against your application. Ask for clarification if any part differs from what you expected.

Identify every condition

Look for outstanding academic results, language evidence, document checks or other conditions. Note what you must provide and the deadline for each item. A conditional offer does not mean those conditions have already been satisfied.

Read the financial and acceptance terms

Review the official fee schedule and any scholarship terms separately. Ask about deposits, payment deadlines, deferral and the institution’s written cancellation or refund rules. Do not assume a scholarship notice changes the admission terms.

Plan the next steps in order

Confirm how to accept through the institution’s verified channel. Check official immigration and student-entry information before making travel commitments. Keep the offer, correspondence and payment records together, and ask about anything you cannot explain in your own words.

Your checklist

  • Match the offer to your intended programme.
  • List conditions and deadlines.
  • Read payment and acceptance terms before committing.
  • Use official channels for the next steps.
