Begin with the programme
Write down your intended subject, the qualification you want to earn and the skills you hope to develop. Compare course modules, assessment methods and opportunities for practical work. Two programmes with similar names may offer very different experiences.
Check language and entry requirements
Ask which language is used for lectures, examinations and any placements. Check the required language evidence for the exact programme and intake. Compare your original qualification against the published entry requirements; nationality alone does not describe your education system.
Compare a complete budget
Put tuition, accommodation, food, local transport, insurance, application expenses and travel in separate rows. Record the currency and period for every estimate. Compare what you would need to pay without a scholarship before relying on a possible award.
Think about everyday life
Consider the campus location, commute, housing choices, food, climate and access to student support. Ask the institution about accommodation availability and contracts before making commitments. Use official student information alongside your own priorities.
Your checklist
- Identify two or three programmes in each destination.
- Record the official course link, teaching language and intake.
- List unknown costs and questions to ask.
- Choose the best academic and practical fit, then verify requirements.
